American’s DC-8 History: Pan American World Airways, the
Flag Carrier of the United States, operated a fleet of 19 DC-8-32/33
aircraft from 1960-1970. Click Here to See
a Pan American DC-8-33 Model. However, they also operated
a single DC-8-62 for approximately 15 months. It was leased from
Braniff International to operate Braniff/Pan Am Interchange Services
from the USA to/from South America. During this short period it
was painted in full Pan Am Colors as the model above accurately
depicts. Click Here to See Pan
American’s DC-8 Fleet Information.
