I took these photos just after I had received
the blank and prior to any work on it. It was in pretty rough
condition with many nicks, scratches, rust & corrosion. Fortunately
nothing was so badly bent, broken or missing that it couldn’t
be fixed and restored. Just like the actual DC-8 Jetliner, these
Douglas Factory Models were built tough & can take a beating
but with some care & effort they will soldier on beautifully
for many more years to come.
