Model History: Produced in the middle to late 1950s K &
B Allyn Models, Los Angeles, CA. For quite a while I have been
looking for a nice example of the Allyn Chrome DC-8 Model. Most
of the ones I have seen were pretty beat up or the chrome was
"weathered" badly. Then the granddaughter of Dr. A.
Ewing Konold contacted me and offered me this beautiful model.
Dr. Konold was the Principal at Santa Monica High School and he
evidently was given this model from one of his students who later
worked on the DC-8. I’m just thrilled to add this beautifully
preserved model from Dr. Konold to my collection. Many thanks
to Carolyn – his granddaughter!
